Moon Mineral Surface
This isn’t just a photo of the moon — it’s the closest I’ve ever felt to touching it.
Armed with my 200–600mm lens, I set out to capture something most people never get to see with the naked eye: the mineral deposits on the surface of the moon — those subtle patches of blues, browns, and golds that reveal its geological personality.
I had been studying a technique from an astrophotographer I admire, learning how to expose the moon just right — not too blown out, not too dim — so the colors would reveal themselves without losing detail.
It took planning. Timing. A full moon just before it rose over the horizon. The sky was just dark enough, and the atmosphere was clear. I adjusted my settings with care, held my breath, and clicked the shutter.
And there it was — not just a moon, but a living planet-face of color, texture, and complexity.
This photo captures what our eyes miss — the beauty that only shows itself when you really look. I hope it brings a little sense of wonder, scale, and space into your home.
I offer five exceptional ways to print your images, each designed to suit your style and needs.
Where Nature Meets the Wall
Every photograph begins with a whisper from the wild — a burst of golden light, the hush of wings, a mountain breathing in stillness. Now those moments can live with you.
